MAC Nutcracker Pigments & Glitter Kit- Review and Swatches

Hey my angels

I am back with another post and this time I will be reviewing MAC pigments and Glitter products. I am reviewing this product very late as this was launched in year 2016. The Nutcracker collection is one of the best collections MAC has released along with the Mariah Carey collection in year 2016. The packaging and choice of products is a complete win-win from this collection. So, let’s have a look!

My Experience with MAC Nutcracker Sweet Bronze Pigments and Glitter Kit –

I loved the packaging of this product and may be that was the biggest reason why this product came with me to my home. The packaging of this collection is very pretty which gives you a very luxurious feeling. The product comes in a small designer sturdy box with a drawer system, they have given a golden color puller to open drawer which just add spark to packaging.  I really loved this drawer concept as your product are safe underneath this box. It comes with three mini pigments (2.4 g / .08 US oz each) and one glitter (1.9 g / .06 US oz each). The shades in the kit are:

Sugar Rush (Pigment) It is a light beige color with a shimmer tinge which is suitable for all skin tones. It can be used in the inner corner of eyes as a highlighter to open up eyes. Also, this shade can be used as a highlighter on the tops of cheeks.

Stardream (Pigment) It is a medium copper-brown color with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. Can be used on a top of  bronzer to give shimmer effect.

Handsome Prince (Pigment)- It is a rusty dark brown intense color with a metallic sheen to it. It tended to have a more luminous finish as it was worked on the skin.

The consistency was extremely finely-milled, velvety and silky smooth for all this 3 pigments. When applied dry on eyelid it was less intense and had to build color to bring out that intense look plus there was a fall out to deal with. It was more intense and dramatic when applied damp on eye lid.  It lasted for approx. 7-8 hours on the eyelid as well as on skin.

Reigning Riches (Glitter )- It is a reddish brown in color with warmer, coppery undertones in a small particle size. This is the first glitter I have used it. It is not an ultra-fine glitter. It does not work without an adhesive base, as used on its own, it sheered away easily, did not stay where it was applied, and had virtually no real wear. Used with an adhesive base, I found it performed as most glitters do over that base–minimal fall out, mostly even coverage. Do not use glitter with glue base as it can be harmful for eyes.

Overall, I liked this beautiful kit and it has really performed well on me. These shades are suitable for all skin tone and stays up to 7-8 hours which is quite good. This shade is good to create more dramatic eyes and are occasional wear. Be careful while using this pigment as you have to deal with fallout. So, I would suggest doing eye makeup first and then starting with base makeup after wiping the fallout. This loose pigment is messy to handle, so be careful while using them. You can get better effect of this pigment when used with MAC fix+ and MAC eye Primer.
