Nudestix Intense Matte Lip and Cheek Pencil in Shade Purity- Review & Swatches

 Nudestix brand is a\ beauty brand that’s become an expert in the ‘barely-there’ makeup. Based on a shared love for all-out natural makeup, the duo (Ally and Taylor Frankel) launched NUDESTIX after an unsuccessful search for makeup that comes with a no-nonsense attitude. Instead, NUDESTIX believes that your natural skin should thrive and that you only need little coverage here and there to achieve that flawless nude look.

From Nudestix brand I am presenting intense matte lip and cheek pencil in shade purity. This brand is more into crayons style products that are easy to carry and use. So let’s get started-

What it is: A soft, non-drying matte lipstick, lip liner, and cheek blush all in one pencil.

What it does: This longwearing matte formula is soft, non-feathering and lasts for up to six hours. Its intense pigment load and color provides lips with maximum smooth coverage, and gives a soft, matte blush to cheeks.

What it is formulated WITHOUT: Parabens, Sulfates & Phthalates

How to use-

  1. Outline the lips, then color the entire lip. Purse your lips together.
  1. Lightly apply the color to your cheekbones, then blend towards the temples with your fingertips.

Ingredients-

Dimethicone, Diisostearyl Malate, Synthetic Wax, Distarch Phosphate, Polybutene, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone, Crosspolymer, Caprylyl Methicone, Dimethylimidazolidinone Rice Starch, Glyceryl, Caprylate, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Silica, Isoceteth-10.

Olfactory notes- Lily of the valley, peony, iris, rose, musks, vanilla, benzoin, tonka bean and sandalwood

My experience with this product–

I received this product in a sephora box lying with other products in the box which I have received in a black Friday sale as a freebee. Technically, all Nudestix products come in a matte black metal tin box with brand name embossed on it. This Pencil is a chubby crayons that need to be manually sharpened (Also note, as this was a freebee, I did not receive any sharpener with this pencil). I would have loved if they would have provided twister at the bottom f the pencil to save some products as sharpening the pencil leads to wastage of the product as well. As it is compact in size you can carry on day-to-day basis and fit easily into the small pockets of the handbag. The bottom of the pencil represents the shade color which makes it easy to find the shade in lot of other lip pencils.

  

The formulation of this product is very creamy, velvety and smooth. It glides like butter on the skin and the best part are I don’t even remember if I ever dragged this product on my skin. I got the shade Purity which is a dusty rose shade and perfectly works as nude lipstick on my skin. It does have a little sheen so don’t expect a complete matte. It does keep the lips moist and nourished throughout the day and did not feel any heaviness on my lips after application. The best part is my lips were not peeled after taking off the lipstick nor they were chapped.

The color payoff is awesome and can be noticed in single swipe. The intensity of the color can be built with few more swipes but for me, a single swipe has done its job. The product stayed for 5 hours and then started fading and need reapplication after every 5-6 hours which the brand has clearly mentioned. Because of the creamy formulae, products blend smoothly on the cheeks. This shade gives me natural rosy skin which does not make me feel that I have applied any blush and all the glow was coming from within. I have also used this pencil as the eyeshadow and it has blended amazingly on my eye lids.

Overall, I loved this product for its smooth and velvety texture, opaque color payoff and the way it keeps the lips nourished throughout the wear. I love the product which can be used in a multiple ways and solve the purpose plus saving lot of time. The dusty rose shade will suit all skin types and so I highly recommend it. The product does transfer, so reapplication is needed. I enjoy using this shade for my daily office wear. In spite of being pricey, I will repurchase this product again and will try their different product range as well.
