KAY BEAUTY CONTOUR STICK IN SHADE CARAMEL FOCUS

Being in the makeup industry for a while, I learned and upgraded myself about Contouring. When I started my makeup channel I hardly knew about this term and never used it. Slowly and steadily I came across this terminology and its effect and uses in makeup. Let me help you understand Contouring is used in makeup to create a shadow/ illusion on the face to enhance and highlight the nose, cheekbones, jawline, collarbone, and forehead. It is used on the face and neck to give it a required shape by adding depth and intensity to the face. If you are not a regular user or you haven’t used it till now then this is the right stick to start with.

My experience with this product

The product comes in a thick cardboard box with the letter K embossed on it which looks really subtle. The best part of this packaging is the color of the shade is printed on the cardboard. The Pencil is fat, short and sturdy with the letter K embossed on it and the best thing is Pencil body represents the shade purchased which becomes too easy to recognize in a cosmetic box.

Talking about the texture it is smooth, creamy and silky but you have to warm the tip of the pencil a little by scribbling on the back of the hand before using it directly on the face. If you stay in a hot and humid climate then there is no need to do it as due to Marula oil present in the pencil, the product is slightly soft and spreads effortlessly on the face.

The consistency is thick but easily blendable due to its creamy texture. The Product worked more beautifully with a brush than a sponge. I have also tried blending the product with my fingers but maximum products get transferred to the fingertips than on the face so it’s preferable to work with a brush or a sponge. The product after blending settles into a powder formula giving the matte effect on the face.

It gives medium coverage in a single swipe which is good for everyday use and can be rebuilt as desired depending on the occasion. The brand has introduced 3 shades and I opted for the medium shade as I am NC 40 in MAC. It is nicely pigmented and the staying power is good enough. Once the product is settled on the face it does not bleed or smudge or transfer. I haven’t noticed any breakout or irritation on my skin after using this product. The only thing I didn’t like about this is I have to sharpen every time which leads to wastage of product. I wish they would have provided a roll-on at the bottom.

Overall, if you are a beginner like me then this is the product you need in your cosmetic bag. The quality provided for the amount charged is justifiable as it’s vegan, cruelty-free and paraben free plus it is waterproof and smudge-free. Due to its creamy texture, the product blends easily and effortlessly on the face. You can notice the difference easily by taking with & without pictures using this contour stick.
